Our goal is to design apparel that represents the story we’re telling.  When you buy Bush + Leavenworth, you’re buying a piece of the story, and you become the character.

Washed up

Our shirts and sweater are pre-washed for softness and fit. Many shirts are also washed with an enzyme wash, bleached and tinted, which loosens some of the fabric dye, creating a distressed, worn look. At the same time, the shirts have been chain-stitched for extra durability.

To the right, you can see how much the enzyme wash changes the raw fabric. This wash was particularly important to the story of AMBIT, where Mason’s work on the farm has resulted in aged, faded shirts.

Finally, many fabrics are indigo dyed for a natural blue tone. As these pieces age with you, the indigo will continue to wear and fade..

As raw as it gets

Our ties are raw indigo dyed and have not been pre-washed, allowing the vivid blue hue to shine through. The ties have been sewn by hand, and you’ll find contrasting fabric on the interior. The ties have been reinforced with extra interfacing so they are especially durable.

Tees me

Our tees are cut-and-sew to give you the perfect, slim-fit. Like the button-downs, they’re pre-washed and then washed again in an enzyme wash to achieve fading. The screen print design has been achieved with discharge printing, so the tee remains incredibly soft throughout. Speaking of soft – the tees are made with Supima cotton, which is a premium cotton grown in the southwestern United States.
